On the 5 mile island unbeknown to all there is actually a fifth unincorporated town, Diamond Beach, (a section of Lower township). Diamond Beach hosts beautiful private beaches and some of the most luxurious properties on the island. It is also the only place you can get a drink with dinner on the southern end of the island as Wildwood Crest is a dry town.
A must do in diamond beach? Take an early morning or evening stroll or bike ride through the Cape May National Wildlife Sanctuary at the South East tip of the island (there is a parking lot). This large national park is a great place to view the many different bird species Southern New Jersey has to offer. If you enjoy fishing, check out the rock pile at the south end of the Diamond Beach for some of the best fishing the island has to offer, just be careful climbing on the rocks. Also be sure during your stay to grab an afternoon drink at The Star Beach Bar accompanied with live music (open to the public) while you soak up the sun.
